Mark your calendars! The annual Friends of the Salem Library's HUGE annual book sale is coming up on Friday, Oct. 30th and Saturday, Oct. 31st, 2015. Over 20,000 gently used books!

Friday, October 30 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (6:00 early entry for Friend's Members- sign up at the door)
Saturday, October 31 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

You can increase your donation to the Library by using your employer's corporate matching gift program. Many corporations have matching gift programs and will match donations made to a charitable organization. Check with your company's human resources department to find out about its matching-gift policy.

Monetary Donations to the Friends of Salem Library are also enthusiastically accepted. The Friends of Salem Library is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) tax status. With a monetary donation, you can request in what area you would like to contribute your gift. For example your gift could be used for children's books, adult audiobooks, teen e-books or nature programs. There are a variety of areas which needs funding. Your donation will be put to work precisely as you wish.

The Friends of Salem Library have 2 book sales a year. The Spring Book Sale takes place at the Salem Free Public Library around the middle of May. Our larger book sale is held at the Salem School at the end of October during Salem's famed Apple Festival. The proceeds from the book sales are used to support the library's collection and programs.

Donations of gently used books on all subjects, movies, audiobooks, music CDs are accepted year-round at the Salem Free Public Library. We do not accept encyclopedias or textbooks that are more than 3 years old, Reader's Digest Condensed books, vinyl records, or magazines. There are two donation boxes located outside the entrance of the library. If you have a large amount of items, please bring them inside the library during library hours which are:

Monday-Wednesday 12 Noon to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday (Sept-June) 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday (July & Aug) 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
