We couldn't ask for better weather to spend all day training on the fundamentals. We are out here this morning training on taking a hydrant, pulling hose lines, throwing ladders, and pumping the engines. After lunch, we will turn it up a notch with more skills.

Did you know that the week of April 12-16 is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week?

We's like to give a special shout out to the Emergency Telecommunicators at Willamette Valley Communications Center 911 and Metcom 911 - true professionals under the headset who not get only get to tell the cops (and us) where to go but are also the calm voices on the other end of the phone when you call 9-1-1.

Thank you for all you do for us and the people of Marion County!

More wind and weather is on the way folks! Batten down the hatches, tie those holiday decorations down, be careful while traveling and watch out for any errant windborne reindeer! Keep an eye on weather updates from our friends at US National Weather Service Portland Oregon and Marion County Emergency Management!

Over the last few weeks we have been busy. Toy collection, food pickups, Keizer lights parade, toy and food sorting, candy cane run through Clearlake, and toy & food box handout. We want to thank our community, our volunteers, and our paid personnel for all the help getting this all done. Thank you all and Merry Christmas.
