Windermere Heritage has been a community partner for a few years now, and each year they tackle a huge project.
This year, we finished the trail at Orchard Heights Park, and we couldn't be more thankful for their determination to see the project through.

I hope you get out to walk the freshly chipped path. It is a great way to beat the heat and walk in the shade.

North Salem High School is full of really great students, and we had the opportunity to work with the Japanese Kawagoe Club this last weekend.
Club members worked really hard to spread bark dust in the landscape bed that is home to one of Salem's Hiroshima Peace Trees.
If you have ever walked through Pringle Park, then you know how special this place is. Now, because of their hard work, it really shines.

A little bit of a photo drop here, but I promise you...it's good stuff.

We started back in April by visiting McKay High School. Telling students that they can do big things for their community, and how important it is to be involved. We talked about what could be done at McKay Park, and then students decided what to move forward on.

Students chose ballfield maintenance, and trail work. From there we got to work. Students learned how to use tools, gained new skills, and felt triumphant when overcoming the challenging trail work.

We are really excited for this partnership to continue, and to work with these students again.

Memorial Day weekend at Pioneer Cemetery is made possible through volunteer support. Volunteers are on site to answer questions, show visitors around, and educate on the historical figures that are here.
This year, we had the good fortune to welcome the Key Club from South High School, and the ROTC program.
The weather was perfect, the company was memorable, and we are excited to see these kids again.

No-Ivy League is expanding!! The Sunnyslope Neighborhood Association held an event last night at Secor Park, and thank you to everyone who came out! You can see by the pictures, that these folks mean business, and I am excited to see the growth in this part of town.

Our season of planting trees ended on an amazing day. Ingredion spent a day of service working alongside our tree crew at Minto, and some big things were accomplished. Together, they planted native trees and shrubs, and spread a few yards of chips near parking lot #3. By next year, there will be a really awesome native hedge that will provide food and shelter to the many species that call Minto home.

Morningside Neighborhood really knows when to show up for their park, and it shows.
This park saw some major improvements recently, and it was all badly needed. For final touches, folks came out and beautified tree circles and landscape beds, with a fresh layer of mulch.

Fircrest Park had an 🌎Earth Day🌎 event for the books. I can't believe all that was accomplished. From the turf seeding, to enhancing the pollinator garden, these volunteers showed up!
I kid you not, volunteers removed close to 20 yards (maybe more) of ivy from trees and shrubs. Absolutely amazing.
