Hello, everyone! The National Weather Service has Red Flag Warnings in place through this evening for a wide swath of southern Oregon from the Cascades to the Idaho border.

Please pay attention to these elevated wildfire conditions and take the necessary steps to prevent sparking a wildfire. Today is not the day to mow dry grass. Also, make sure tow chains are secure if you are pulling a trailer of any kind.

Huge thanks to State Hazmat Team 3 for their quick response to this call! The team, made of members from Gresham and Clackamas Fire, responded earlier today. The situation is under control, and there is no threat to those nearby.

Oregon has a robust hazardous materials response program, with teams ready to help across the state. They are a resource for local fire agencies, from a phone consult to response. These highly skilled first responders are always ready to protect communities!

PLAN AHEAD: The weekend forecast is looking rough with hot, dry conditions coupled with thunderstorms and gusty winds. Please pay attention to these Red Flag Warnings and Fire Weather Watches issued by the National Weather Service.

Prevent wildfires by avoiding mowing or using equipment in the after. If a blade hits a rock and throws a spark, a wildfire can start. Don't park on tall, dry grass. Make sure tow changes are secure and not dragging on the road.

Be prepared. Know the evacuation levels, sign up for alerts, have a plan in case you are put under an evacuation notice.

Please be aware, the National Weather Service has a Red Flag Warning in place for the Lower Columbia Basin and North Central Oregon through this evening.

Take steps to prevent sparking a human-caused fire. It is extremely dry across the state and as our fire season has shown us so far this year, it doesn't take much for a fire to take off.

FROM THE FIRE LINE: The Oregon fire service continues their great work protecting communities and critical infrastructure threatened by wildfire.

Since July 10, we’ve mobilized resources to 12 conflagrations and numerous immediate response and preposition assignments. Red Flag Warnings continue today (8/15/26) for Eastern Oregon.

Help our firefighters out this summer by being and taking steps to prevent human caused fires.

INTERNATIONAL HELP: On the Wrights Spring Fire in Klamath County, our communications team helped firefighters from Australia and New Zealand get their radios tuned up and ready to go before they were briefed and headed to their assignments.

Firefighters and support staff from Australia and New Zealand are in the Northwest to help with our wildfire fight. The international help was brought in at the request of the National Multi-Agency Coordinating Group. More than 300 specialists bring diverse expertise, including aviation operations, fire line leadership, prevention and mitigation strategies, and emergency communications support.

The group assigned to the Wrights Spring Fire was previously assigned to the Castle Fire on the Umpqua National Forest. This is their second assignment in Oregon.

We are so grateful to have this extra support and to have these crews working alongside us!

When we mobilize firefighters, equipment, support staff, and incident management teams, our mission is to protect nearby communities, homes, and critical infrastructure. We work alongside our wildland partners. They focus on the fire, we protect the homes.

We use the Oregon Fire Mutual Aid System, which is the 300+ local fire districts and departments across Oregon. When one of those agencies needs assistance, they bring in help from neighboring agencies. If more resources are needed, they look to regional mutual aid.

If the response needs more help, we coordinate with agencies across the state to get firefighters and equipment there. When the Oregon Fire Mutual Aid System nears capacity, we then look to our neighboring states.

This year, we've received help from California, Utah, and Washington to boost the system. We can not thank our partners enough for the incredible work they have done so far this summer and appreciate the help! Oregon has one of the strongest mutual aid systems in the country and we are constantly looking at ways to improve.

FROM THE FIRE LINE: We have 23 task forces assigned to three conflagrations across Oregon. The Oregon fire service has had a very busy month protecting communities from wildfires. Since July 10, our team has supported 12 conflagrations and numerous immediate response assignments.

It is only August 11 and we have a ways to go till the end of fire season. Please do what you can to prevent sparking a human-caused fire.
