Community Library (Salem, WI) Community Library is a public library located in Western Kenosha County, Wisconsin.

The mission of our Library is to create a sense of community and to provide free access to materials and services which improve minds, enrich lives, and fulfill cultural, civic, educational, and recreational needs.

This summer's Reading Picnic featuring Dinosaur Dimensions by Strutz Entertainment was held last Saturday, August 8th. The event included interactive dinosaur puppets and animatronics.

Following the performance, families could meet and greet the dinosaurs, play lawn games, do crafts at the Kenosha County 4-H table and enjoy a free hot dog lunch provided by the Kenosha YMCA. Attendees also received free Culver's custard and Dunkin' donuts, both courtesy of our library partners in the Paddock Lake locations.

Just a few days left until the August 15 deadline to submit your bookmark designs. We can't wait to see what you create!

The Library's book drop located at the old Silver Lake Village Hall/Fire Station (113 S 1st Street, Silver Lake, WI 53170) has been removed because the building was sold. We have three other book drops available for your use. One is at the Salem Branch, one is at the Twin Lakes branch and one is located at the Paddock Lake Village Hall parking lot.

It's time for another Bookmark Design Contest! 🥳🎨📚 Pick up an entry form at the Salem or Twin Lakes branches to design your own bookmark, and return it to the library by August 15th.

One winner will be selected from each age category: Kids (6-12), Teens (13-18), Adults (19+). Public voting will take place August 18-25 using an online form or in-person at Salem and Twin Lakes. The winning bookmarks will be printed and distributed at both branches in September to celebrate National Library Card Sign Up Month!

Some collections at our Twin Lakes branch have been on the move! 📚 We recently shifted many of the adult collections including large print, nonfiction, fiction, romance, westerns and audiobooks on CD to make browsing easier and give more space for growing collections.
