Join us today on Main Street in Salem for the 2026 Washington County Indiana Farmers Merchants Fair Parade, starting at 5:00 pm and proceeding down North Main Street around the square and continuing down South Main Street.

Members of the Salem Fire Company are staffing the truck and tractor pull event at the Washington County Indiana Farmers Merchants Fair. Additionally, members are operating a concession booth near the grandstands and providing fire protection services.

What a friendly visitor we had today ! If you’re interested in meeting Moose or possibly adopting him please go see the folks over at the Salem Animal Shelter!! 🐶 🦴

Moose asked to see a fire truck 🚒…and who can say no to that face?! ACO Colglazier introduced him to Asst Chief Gamble of the City of Salem Fire Department to grant his wish. Moose wants to remind everyone that the department is currently taking donations for the 73rd Annual WHAS Crusade for Children.

Moose is a 9 mo, 80lb lab/staffordshire terrier mix. He is the ℍ𝔸ℙℙ𝕀𝔼𝕊𝕋 boy you’ll ever meet! He ♥LOVES♥ all people but would do best in a home without tiny humans (think world’s friendliest bowling ball). Moose loves to fetch balls 🎾 and get treats 🦴! He needs daily exercise and would love a fenced in yard to play. Moose is dog friendly. Call the shelter if you’d like to meet 🫎, 883-3673.

Today marks our final stop for the WHAS Crusade for Children roadblock. Not only are we collecting funds, but we're also saving lives. A lost turtle received assistance crossing Main Street and was directed towards the creek.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Salem Arby's for their generous support during our WHAS Crusade for Children collection. Arby's donated their world-famous roast beef sandwiches to feed our team members.
