PSEG Energy & Environmental Resource Center (EERC)

PSEG Energy & Environmental Resource Center (EERC) The Energy & Environmental Resource Center is a community resource, introducing new audiences to PSE How does the economic boom in China affect me?

How many planets would we need if everyone in the world lived like me? What exactly are energy efficient light bulbs and why should I put them in my house? Find answers to these questions and more at the EERC, an exciting new learning center that combines the the latest interactive technologies with hands-on educational programs that bring energy and the environment to life. Students and visitors

often shriek with surprise as they discover that electricity does flow through their human circuit or laugh hysterically at the hair-raising reaction caused by placing a fellow student’s hand on a Van de Graaff generator. There’s also the lesson of energy consumption at home and how everyone can make a difference. Discover the inner scientist in you! The EERC is open by appointment and welcomes student field trips, Scouts, and interested parties for tours and programs. Need a location for a meeting or function? Consider our comfortable and flexible auditorium, classroom or hands-on lab, equipped with audiovisual equipment and available for community use free of charge. Ready, set, GO! We recently made learning fun for a group of students from the New Jersey Governor's School of Engineering & Technology at Rutgers University. They learned about energy, engineering, and the role of nuclear as a clean energy source through a scavenger hunt around the EERC (with a pit stop to the Hope Creek control room simulator, of course).

"Loved this opportunity PSEG gave us to explore and learn about nuclear energy. My favorite part - getting a model Uranium pellet (which is the size of the tip of your finger) and learning that it generates more energy than one ton of coal and 149 gallons of oil!" - Adam Goldstein
