This is a dry run of the new vertical (roof) ventilation training prop. This is the hydraulic adjustment in real time. Adjustable angles allow firefighters to practice on a variety of roof pitches, just like many houses have different pitches in the roof.

The Dent County Fire Protection District would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Outlaw Fabrication for the outstanding design, creation, and installation of our new vertical ventilation roof prop. This fully adjustable prop is now in service.

This training prop is a major addition to our capabilities. It will allow our firefighters to train to the highest standards in vertical ventilation techniques—skills that are critical to protecting lives and property across our district. The realistic, durable design ensures that our crews can practice safely, efficiently, and with the confidence needed when responding to real-world emergencies.

We would also like to give a special thank you to our Board of Directors for authorizing the purchase of this valuable piece of equipment. Your support continues to strengthen our mission and enhances the readiness of every firefighter who serves the Dent County Fire Protection District.

Together, we are building a safer Dent County.

Your Dent County Fire Protection District firefighters were invited to party with the Salem Middle School today. The school hosted a "Level Up" party. Of course, we had to be a part of the shenanigans!

Engine 8010 and Pumper Tanker 8023 arrived at the school and deployed the deck guns for a water war and slip and slide! Nobody was safe! Including a friendly war between trucks! Assistant Chief Marfitt's son also joined in and soaked his dad!

Thank you for the invite Salem Middle School! We had a blast!

Today your DCFPD Firefighters attended Serendipity at Salem Upper Elementary. We were blessed to spend time with 2 groups of aspiring firefighters. We are sorry to the 3rd group that was expecting us, we had to respond to a call for service at the Salem Middle School. Thankfully the call at the Middle School was due to a fault in the phone system and there was no actual emergency. Enjoy some photos from our day.
