The Town would like to address recent concerns regarding the placement of the grill at Hedgehog Park.
The grill was installed in a location that was not the originally intended placement identified by Community Services. The placement was the result of a misunderstanding in communication with the contractor team during the installation process.
Once the placement was identified, Community Services requested that the grill be relocated to its intended location on the opposite side of the shade structure. We were assured this would take place prior to the park opening, and the grill has been closed for use to ensure it is not utilized before it is relocated.
The Town understands that the proximity of the grill to the memorial has caused concern within the community. We recognize and respect the significance of the memorial and those it honors, and we remain committed to ensuring that all memorials and public spaces are treated with appropriate care and respect.
We appreciate the community’s feedback and concern, and we are working to ensure the matter is fully resolved as intended.

Join us in the parking lot next to the Chamber (former Tuscan Kitchen location) at 81 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079 for a fun-filled community celebration you won’t want to miss!
