Oregon is a global leader in semiconductor research, development and manufacturing, and this October, Business Oregon is taking that story to SEMICON West.

Oregon is home to 15% of the nation’s semiconductor workforce, the only High-NA EUV lithography tool in the United States and one of the country’s most advanced semiconductor research and development ecosystems.

The state is also investing in the industry’s continued growth through the $240 million Oregon CHIPS Program, a semiconductor research and development tax credit worth $255 million over six years, the Semiconductor Industrial Land Loan Program and the new Oregon Semiconductor Center of Innovation Excellence.

SEMICON West brings together leaders from across the global microelectronics supply chain. Business Oregon will be there October 13–15 in San Francisco to showcase the talent, infrastructure, partnerships and resources that make Oregon an ideal place for semiconductor companies to grow.

Join us at the Mid-Columbia Innovation Hub’s September HubTalk: Reverse Pitch on Thursday, September 10th starting at 5:30 pm at Columbia Gorge Community College - Hood River.

Instead of founders taking the stage, accelerators, lenders, support organizations, and other entrepreneurial resources get two minutes to make their case for why you should know them. Come hear the pitches and speak to the folks who might be the best fit as a resource for your business!

ICYMI: What if the people who support entrepreneurs had to pitch themselves?

That’s exactly what’s happening at the Mid-Columbia Innovation Hub’s September HubTalk: Reverse Pitch on Thursday, September 10th starting at 5:30 pm at Columbia Gorge Community College - Hood River.

Instead of founders taking the stage, accelerators, lenders, support organizations, and other entrepreneurial resources get two minutes to make their case for why you should know them.

Then the tables turn. Meet them face to face, ask questions, discover resources and make connections that could help move your business forward.

With organizations including Business Oregon, Craft3, Built Oregon, MESO PDX, Oregon UAS Accelerator, USDA, and many more already on the lineup, this is a great chance to find out who’s in your corner.

No pitch deck. No prep. No pressure. Just show up, listen, connect and find the resources that fit what you’re building.

If you’re building a business in the Mid-Columbia region, this one is worth putting on the calendar.

📣Business Oregon wants to hear from you! We've opened a Pre-Application Inquiry to help shape the next round of Centers of Innovation Excellence (CIE) funding, anticipated for Spring 2027. This is a listening step, not a funding opportunity. We're gathering input on where Oregon's innovation ecosystem has the biggest opportunities and gaps before we design the next solicitation.

We want to hear about sector and technology opportunities, ecosystem needs, current partnerships and reach, and what should shape the future funding opportunity. We want to hear from anyone who supports Oregon's innovation ecosystem, such as universities, regional and industry partnerships, nonprofits, public-private partnerships, and others.

Optional virtual office hours run Aug. 31–Sept. 11. Written questions are due Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. PT, and responses are due Oct. 5 at noon PT.
