If candidates are concerned that voters will reject their candidacy at the ballot box, the answer is not to make it harder for people to vote. The answer is to earn their votes. My statement on today's SCOTUS ruling striking down Trump's voter suppression plan:

Everybody deserves due process and real access to legal counsel.

At Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition, I saw their frontline work to protect immigrants from ICE’s abuses.

I’ll keep fighting to defend our communities and ensure immigrant families get support when a loved one is detained.

Without SNAP, families are making impossible choices about whether to pay for their prescriptions or put food on the table.

This is Trump’s America.

Nationwide, roughly 5 million Americans have lost access to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits since the One Big Beautiful Bill became law, including more than 1.5 million children, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

And SNAP funding could face a major shake-up at the end of September unless Congress passes a resolution to delay major changes included in H.R. 1.

Without construction workers, our economy would suffer. So when they reach out for help, it's our job to show up for them with accessible, quality mental health care. 🦺 👷

In another gift to the fossil-fuel industry, Trump and the EPA are rolling back rules that limit pollution from power plants.

Instead of lowering costs for people, they’re helping big corporations.

This will expose MILLIONS of Americans to more pollution, accelerate climate change, and threaten our health.

Generation of electricity is the second largest source of carbon dioxide and other planet-warming gases in the United States.

Trump’s “Golden Age” was just fool’s gold.

The lower prices he promised never arrived, and no convention can hide the cost families are paying because of failed Republican policies.

House Democrats won’t let them get away with it.

Earlier this month, I led 164 Members of Congress in calling on the U.S. Forest Service to give Americans more time to weigh in on the Trump Administration’s plan to repeal the Roadless Rule.

Now, the agency has extended the public comment deadline by 15 days, from September 21 to October 6.

I’m glad they listened to our demands — but 15 extra days is still far short of the 120-day extension we requested. Oregonians deserve a real voice in decisions that could affect 44 million acres of public lands, our clean drinking water, wildlife habitat, and outdoor recreation economy.

To stand up for the Roadless Rule, make your voice heard here:

Our most intact wildlands are under attack. The Trump administration is working to weaken or eliminate the Roadless Rule, a longstanding safeguard that protects nearly 2 million acres of Oregon’s forests and 45 million acres nationwide from destructive logging and development. These include belove...

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation was changed forever.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who ran toward danger and helped strangers in a moment of unimaginable terror.

We also remember what followed: communities coming together, neighbors caring for one another, and Americans showing that even in our darkest hours, we are strongest when we stand together.

May we honor their memory not only by remembering what happened, but by carrying forward the courage, service, and shared humanity that defined so many Americans that day.

Great to be back at Punx in the Park — now in its fifth year of bringing live music, punk makeovers, and a massive lineup of resources to Salem youth 🤘

It was moving to see so many people come together to connect young folks with support in an environment where they feel comfortable.
