The Waite & Peirce Park Store (193 Derby Street) will be closed on September 11. We apologize for any inconvenience. The building will reopen at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 12.

The Salem Armory NPS Visitor Center (2 New Liberty Street) is open daily from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM. The Visitor Center includes a park store, passport stamps, and a park film.

Derby Wharf will be closed to the public on Friday, September 11, while crane operations take place to install a topmast on the tall ship FRIENDSHIP OF SALEM. The wharf will reopen in the afternoon once the work is complete and the area is safe. Please follow all safety guidance from National Park Service staff and volunteers. We appreciate your understanding.

Join us Friday, September 11, for the annual of ringing of the bell in honor of the lives lost on that tragic day 25 years ago. We will meet by Pedrick Store House on Derby Wharf. The crew of FRIENDSHIP OF SALEM will ring the bell at 9:05 AM.

Join us on Saturday, September 12 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM for kayaking and waterfront crafts. Explore Salem harbor on land and water during this special program. Borrow a kayak or paddleboard and paddle along the waterfront between Derby Wharf and Central Wharf. Back on land, learn about the natural environment in Salem with special crafts and activities with park rangers. Kayaks and paddleboards are available first come, first served. Lifejackets and training will be provided.

Join historian Curtis White on Sunday, September 13 from 12-3 as he explores the stories of the Great Salem Fire of 1774 and its connections to Revolutionary Salem. This will be a special drop in talk at Salem Maritime National Historical Park's Central Wharf, where White will point out important landmarks related to the fire. The talk will also feature unique historical moments leading up to the Revolution. No reservations are required.

The Central Wharf Restrooms will be closed on the morning of Tuesday, September 8 for maintenance. When work is completed, the building will be reopened for its regular schedule. Free public restrooms can be found at the Salem Armory NPS Regional Visitor Center (9:30 AM-4:30 PM), or at one of the locations listed at www.salem.org/restrooms/
