Public assistance requested

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office App “Submit a Tip” feature is a valuable tool used not only by the Sheriff’s Office, but also by other local law enforcement agencies.

We would like to remind the public that the tip submission feature should not be used to report crimes that are actively occurring or situations requiring an immediate law enforcement response. The tip line is not monitored continuously 24 hours a day, and information submitted through the app may not be seen immediately.

If you are witnessing an active crime or have an emergency requiring immediate police assistance, please call 911 or contact your local police department directly.

If you have information regarding a crime that has already occurred, or knowledge of a potential crime that may take place, we encourage you to submit that information through the app’s tip feature.

Thank you for your continued assistance and support. The information provided by the public is an important part of helping law enforcement protect our communities.

Police Memorial week

I want to take a moment to recognize and thank every law enforcement officer in Marion County for your dedication, sacrifice, and service to our communities. During Police Memorial Week, we honor not only those who continue to serve, but also remember the brave officers across our state and nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Today, I especially remember Officer Adam Conrad, Marion County End of Watch: January 20, 2016. His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

To all of our officers — thank you for your commitment, courage, and service.
