COMMUNITY CALENDAR LAUNCH
SALEM, INDIANA

The City of Salem is excited to announce partnership with the Washington County Community Foundation to launch an inclusive Washington County Community Calendar. This is a digital platform designed to serve as the definitive hub for local events, helping Salem residents stay connected while giving non-profit corporations a valuable tool to spread awareness about their offerings and community focused activities.

Recognizing the need for unified, easily accessible scheduling resource, the City of Salem and the Washington County Community Foundation collaborated to build a platform that bridges the gap between event organizers and the public. From festivals and farmers market events to small business drives, the calendar provides a streamlined space to showcase everything Washington County has to offer.

To ensure the calendar is as robust and comprehensive as possible, The City of Salem encourages all local organizations, clubs, schools and businesses hosting community events to get in touch. If you are planning an event open to the community, simply reach out the Mayor’s office with details. Additionally, post your announcement to social media as an “Event” not just a post. This will ensure the Community Calendar will update automatically.

🚨EFFECTIVE JUNE 1-JUNE 5
SOUTH MAIN STREET ROAD CLOSURE

South Main Street will be closed at Small Street intersection for railbed removal. This is necessary to complete Phase 2 of the Main Street corridor road work. Detour for motorists will be on High Street for traffic to connect back to Main Street. Work will be complete by end of day June 5th.

Join the City of Salem in celebrating Arbor Day!

On April 24th, the City of Salem, sponsored by the Tree Board, is offering free sapling pickup for residents. The limit will be one sapling, black cherry and white oak, per household. Pickup will be at the Salem Fire Department, starting at 10am.
