Why Hands-On History Matters

The Hands-On History program at the Linden House was created to instill a love for history. Children often tour museums with signs that say “Don’t Touch” and artifacts behind glass enclosures. We want to create a love for history by engaging children of all ages in “hands-on” activities to help them connect with the past and experience French Colonial America in a fun and educational way.

THE LINDEN HOUSE: The Linden House is an early 19th century vertical log house. The House was built in approximately 1820 and is currently an educational component to the historic house museum campus: The Centre for French Colonial Life. The house is owned and operated by French Colonial America.

PLANNING A TRIP: Our program has new themes almost every season! We encourage people to mark their calendars, make reservations ahead of time, and even RSVP for our events. At $2 per person, we are a highly sought out educational program for families. Planning a group trip? We highly recommend reserving ahead of time. Fridays are reserved especially for large groups.

We have created this page as a way to help parents, teachers, and guardians plan a trip, ask questions, make group reservations, and hear about all of our upcoming programs Join us at the Linden House on Tuesdays and Saturdays for a fun experience your whole family can enjoy!
