As you head out on the water this Labor Day weekend, take a few extra minutes to make sure everyone gets home safely.

๐ŸฆบWear a life jacket. If youโ€™re on a boat, personal watercraft, kayak, paddleboard, or other vessel, make sure you have a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket.

๐Ÿšค Boat responsibly. Know the rules, watch your speed, stay alert, and never operate a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

๐Ÿ‘€ Keep an eye on everyone. Children and inexperienced swimmers should always be closely supervised around the water.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Have a plan. Check the weather, tell someone where you're going, and make sure you have the proper safety equipment before you leave the dock.

This Labor Day weekend, enjoy the water, celebrate responsibly, and make sure everyone gets home safe.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue,St. Petersburg Police Department and Sunstar Paramedics personnel were staged at a local endurance race in April 2026. From the moment first responders made patient contact, they worked in seamless coordination, rapidly assessing his condition, initiating cardiac monitoring, and delivering critical prehospital interventions. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿš”๐Ÿš’

Clinicians continued advanced care en route to St. Anthony's Hospital. Their calm demeanor under pressure set the tone for an efficient, lifesaving response which transferred to the Emergency Department and Cardiac specialists for definitive care.

This EMS Excellence award celebrates exceptional emergency services and the profound impact these life-saving efforts have on individuals, families, and communities. The patient and his family visited personnel at SPFR Headquarters to express their gratitude. ๐Ÿซถ
