Civilian Conservation Corps Initiative CCCI urge our Policy Makers to re-establish the United States Civilian Conservation Corps as a workforce of American Citizens as a national service.

Submitting this on Monday to the Pinellas Democratic Executive Comm.

Reestablishment of the U.S. Civilian Conservation Corps H.R. 2358
(Submitted by the Hon. Jay D. Alexander, St Petersburg, FL)
Whereas an 21st Century USCCC should be made a part of the 2020 Federal Election Platform and is currently a stand alone bill setting in the House Education and Labor Committee, H.R. 2358 the 21st Century Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Act, sponsored by Marcy Kaptur OH-9; and
Whereas the USCCC would be seen as an alternative to military service and national service for single young adults, older married war veterans and Native Americans on their reservations; and
Whereas those who enroll in the reestablished USCCC would receive competent work supervision with superior safety training and a living wage. They would be provided after work with free classroom education that would enable them to enter the private and public sector with confidence; and
Whereas the USCCC could provide able manpower at the scene of man-made and natural disasters across America. They could render assistance to the American Red Cross to aid disaster victim, help in cleanup and rebuilding of infrastructure and repair of the environment: and
Whereas the USCCC would be under direct government control and not under any private contractor. Any government agency or private agency receiving Federal Funding for similar work would be dissolved and absorbed into the newly formed USCCC agency to prevent overlap and fraud: and
Whereas the reestablishment of the USCCC agency would give veterans preference for leadership and supervisory skills within the agency and help alleviate the high underemployment and unemployment stress among young adults: and
Recall that the USCCC of the Roosevelt Administration demonstrated that there need be no conflict between the preservation of the environment and the creation of jobs. The USCCC ranks as the largest environmental effort by any government on earth.
Whereas this popular agency has potential to save the planet with imagination through public works to bring about short-term job training: and
Therefore Be It Resolved that The Pinellas County Democratic Executive Committee calls upon the President and Congress to reestablish the USCCC agency but further calls on the State and National Democratic Party to include this as an issue on the Election Platform in 2020 and beyond to reestablish the Civilian Conservation Corps, the popular agency under the administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

An Honorable and Just Cause:

Please sign and spread this petition to have our young unskilled citizens do simple work to save our human and natural resource capitol!

The petition’s program should be our 6th un-armed service, not a new Space Force, to serve on our own soil in our national defense to conserve and sustain our planet for generations to come.

If you have compassion for life, just THINK that we only have Planet A - called EARTH - there is no Planet B!

Then place a call to your United States Representative and Senator to "Make Earth Great Again!"

To our over 800 people who observe this in our common interest! Please sign and spread this new petition. Let's hope and pray that our Congress and President make the 21st Century CCC Act into the law of the land. At every refunding cycle it is kept going for generations to come - far into the future to make those who serve from our boys and girls in 6 months are made into into men and women RAINBOW WARRIORS / Stewards of the Earth and our future leaders of all humanity!

Our Nation suffers from mounting natural disasters from Climate Change and America needs an agency immediately that would fight those disasters!

Recently, French President Macron said to a Joint Session of Congress…
"We only have Planet A and there is No Planet B!"

The President should look at an initiative developed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the United States Civilian Conservation Corps (USCCC).

U. S. Representative Marcy Kaptur of Toledo is the Sponsor of a house resolution to reestablish the USCCC called the 21st Century USCCC Act. The USCCC would serve in our best interest as an investment in our Human and Natural Resource Capitol. As a National Service for our American youth, it would be considered a non-armed force service that both serve our National Defense interests and provide our young citizens with needed job training to produce Stewards of the Earth and leaders for generations to come.

The USCCC emblem would represent the 6th branch of our Armed Services. The passage of Kaptur’s Bill would allow the President to order his cabinet to endeavor on a noble mission. The USCCC template would eventually spread world wide through FDR’s final initiative the United Nations and create World Peace. Only if the President uses his imagination and power to make earth great again!

Bring back the Civilian Conservation Corps program!

We can again revive our middle class with this New deal, all public-sector program that was the backbone of our Greatest Generation!
In fact, 4 million Americans served from 1933 to 1942. During WW2, one out of six in uniform were in the CCC. All learned the concept of the "lowest bidder" and Democracy first hand and they kicked ASS! The CCC will provide annually real-time OJT for up to 300,000 to a million of our young people and Veterans.

Living with nature as they save the earth. They all will have professional adult supervision and have real fun, travel, and adventure! They would be more prepared for life and learn life and job skills... see goccci.org.

There is legislation since 2009 sponsored by Rep Marcy Kaptur of
toledo, OH ... H.R. 2206 - the 21st Century CCC Act. Take time and email or call (http://wecantakeit.org/id58.html) your Member of Congress and urge them be a cosponsor!

FDR said, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”

Kurt Vonnegut wrote of the future, as life on earth faces extinction, "We could have saved the Earth but we were to damed cheap."

HR 1966 will reestablish the United States Civilian Conservation Corps after 75 years of dormancy from the Roosevelt Administration and again give the POTUS the authority to order our government to invest in our most valuable human and natural resource capital.

Current info on HR1966: https://www.popvox.com/bills/us/114/hr1966

Organizations like the Izaak Walton League and Ducks Unlimited historically supported the 20th Century CCC under FDR and the CCC created lasting wildlife habitat and preserved wildlife in all of our union and territories and they help despoil the Dust Bowl in the 1930's ... FDR called himself a Tree Planter....and the CCC planted up to 4 billion trees...

We Americans need to re-invest in AMERICA!

Our organization, CCCI,Inc, has been advocating for the reestablishment of the Civilian Conservation Corps since its inception on Earth Day 2010.

Please send your endorsement on your organization's letterhead to the sponsor of HR 1966 ...

The future labor leader, Lane Kirkland, grew up in South Carolina, where the CCC was run by an Army officer named George C. Marshall, one of many distinguished officers in World War II who first served the "Tree Army" in the "Woodpecker Wars" at home. Kirkland later explained what the agency did for his state and region: "The Southern U.S. was totally stripped of vegetation. Every river was thick with mud from erosion. Every farm had a gully. And every time it rained, the topsoil just washed away. You go down there now and see millions of pine trees that are the basis of the timber and pulp industry, planted by the CCC.

Over nine years, more than 3 million men were given meaningful work. Corps members planted an astonishing three billions trees, developed 800 state parks, protected 20 million acres from erosion, and cleared 125,000 miles of trails, including those used those used for the first downhill skiing in the United States at Stowe, Vermont. (A president who could not use his legs indirectly launched the ski industry). Perhaps most important, the Civilian Conservation Corps inspired programs over the next several decades such as the Job Corps, Peace Corps and VISTA and Americorps and thousands of community projects, leaving no doubt that the father of national service in the United States was FDR.

Roosevelt's point was plain: Government counts, and in the right hands, it can be made to work. Strong federal action, not just private voluntary efforts and the invisible hand of the marketplace, was required to help those stricken in an emergency. The American people expected and deserved leadership in addressing their hardships, not just from state and local authorities but from the White House. This fundamental insight would guide politicians and help millions of people in the years ahead, but it was lost on others, who ignore the lessons of Franklin Roosevelt at their peril.
