🚫 We took down an elusive LPV & a giant panga filled with Ma*****na.

❄️We offloaded 4,270 lbs of Ma*****na and 75 kg of co***ne today (part of 3,500 kg we intercepted from a low profile vessel).

🇺🇸🌊 We had a great patrol in the Eastern Pacific.

🎄And, we are home in time for Christmas!

Wow! It has been an incredibly busy and challenging month for CGC Venturous. Our crew sortied for Hurricane Helene and, on our way back, provided assistance in the Big Bend of Florida due to Rescue 21 outage. Shortly after, we sortied again for Hurricane Milton to ensure we were prepared to assist in the reconstitution of the Port of Tampa. Many of our crew members experienced significant damage to their homes, but with the unwavering support of our community and our Coast Guard family, our personnel are on the path to recovery.

Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting the Atlantic Area Commander, Vice Admiral Moore, and District 7 Commander, Rear Admiral Schofield, as they visited the crews of both CGC Venturous and CGC Resolute. They recognized the hard work and resilience our crews have demonstrated during these trying times.

During the visit, Vice Admiral Moore also meritoriously advanced BM2 Davidson to BM1 for his sustained excellent performance, outstanding leadership, dedication to duty, and exemplary technical expertise. Congratulations BM1 Davidson!

We are incredibly proud of our crew’s dedication and perseverance!!

In the wake of hurricane , Coasties are coming together to help their neighbors, communities and Coast Guard families recover from the storm. After reconstituting critical operations, off duty U.S. Coast Guard crews from U.S. Coast Guard Sector St Petersburg, U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Venturous and other units on the west coast of Florida are volunteering to assist in the cleanup efforts to salvage what they can from homes that were flooded and damaged.

When threaten our coastal communities, Coast Guard service members deploy to move cutters, aircraft and boats out of the way of the storm to ensure they are ready to respond with lifesaving aid immediately afterward. Help is available for the U.S. Coast Guard families who stayed behind to weather the storm or evacuated and are now returning home to reunite with service members and recover together.

Our new tasking is to provide coverage south of Tallahassee, Florida (Shell Point). The Rescue 21 Tower is down, meaning we will be monitoring Channel 16 for distressed mariners.
