Nicollet County Assessor's Quintile Reassessment of the Neighborhood of Lower North Mankato

Minnesota Statutes require the assessor to physically inspect properties once every five years. This is called the “quintile” reassessment.

Over the summer and fall months, you may see Nicollet County appraisers in your neighborhood. Nicollet County appraisers wear fluorescent vests with "Nicollet County" printed on the back and carry identification badges. Residential property owners can expect mail notifications prior to the appraiser’s visit to the property. Appraisers will take exterior photos of buildings and update property characteristics. Some property reviews may require an interior inspection; please call to schedule an appointment or verify your property information.

If property owners are concerned about the Nicollet County Assessor staff visiting their property, please call the Assessor’s Office at (507) 934-7062, and the Assessor can answer questions, as well as schedule appointments for review.

06/04/2026

We’re seeing an increase in tick bites among Nicollet County residents visiting local emergency departments this season. Now is a good time to take a few simple steps to protect yourself outdoors.

Ticks in our area can carry illnesses like Lyme disease. Early removal and prevention make a difference.

Protect yourself:
• Check yourself, children, and pets after being outdoors
• Pay attention to hidden spots like behind knees, under arms, scalp, and waistline
• Shower soon after coming inside
• Use EPA-approved repellent (like DEET) or wear permethrin-treated clothing
If you find a tick:
• Remove it right away with tweezers, pulling straight out close to the skin
• Clean the bite area
• Watch for symptoms such as rash, fever, or unusual fatigue

If symptoms develop, contact your healthcare provider.
Enjoy the outdoors, and stay tick-aware this season!
