Service. Leadership. Experience.

Before running for office, Al Causey spent decades serving his country and his community. As a Naval Aviator flying from the USS Coral Sea, Al served around the world, demonstrating the discipline, courage, and leadership that come with protecting our nation.

After his military service, Al continued his career in the cockpit as a Captain for Southwest Airlines for more than 20 years, responsible for the safety of thousands of passengers and crew.

From the flight deck of a Navy carrier to the captain’s seat of a commercial aircraft, Al Causey has spent a lifetime making responsible decisions under pressure.
That same commitment to service is exactly what he brings to our community today.

Publix Update:

I spoke with Brixmor, the property owner of Dolphin Village, about the status of Publix. The representative confirmed the intent to create a store similar to the Treasure Island Publix. The redevelopment is in the soil analysis and water drainage stages to determine design parameters. Meeting flood zone requirements, Publix requirements, existing tenant agreements, and city codes are in process. More to follow.

Listening to my neighbors and working together on real solutions will be my top priority on the St. Pete Beach City Commission.

We’re only about 50% through hurricane repair permitting, with the next season approaching, and residents need better awareness and assistance — especially regarding the 50% rule and historic designation options. Flooding and drainage issues must be addressed with solutions that actually work, and we need stronger collaboration to secure funding for critical flooding and sewage projects.

Rep. Chaney is a St. Pete Beach resident who has helped bring millions in funding to our city since Hurricane Helene. She understands this is a critical time for rebuilding our homes and businesses, and she believes Al is the right leader to serve during this recovery.

Linda endorsed Al because she knows St. Pete Beach needs a Commissioner who listens to neighbors, works collaboratively, and focuses on practical solutions. By working together with Rep. Linda Chaney, Al will help maximize future funding opportunities and ensure our city is positioned for long-term recovery and success.
Al is running for City Commissioner, District 3, to bring the voices of residents and businesses to City Hall.
