✈️ A behind-the-scenes look at tourism in Tampa Bay!

Last night, our Leadership Institute class headed to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) for our Tourism Seminar! 🌴

We heard from an incredible lineup of speakers who shared their expertise and perspectives on the tourism industry and its impact on our region. The evening wrapped up with a behind-the-scenes tour of PIE, giving our class a closer look at the airport and the role it plays in connecting visitors to our destination. ✈️

A huge thank you to Tampa Bay Women in Tourism for sponsoring this seminar, to all of our speakers for sharing their time and knowledge, and to the PIE team for welcoming our class and showing us around!

🇺🇸 Today, our beach communities come together to remember.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we honor the 2,977 lives lost, the first responders who answered the call, and the families forever changed.

In the City of Madeira Beach, the 9/11 Memorial at Madeira Beach Patriot Park features 2,977 American flags, each representing a life lost. Firefighters, City staff, and volunteers helped place the flags ahead of this morning’s 9/11 Day of Remembrance Ceremony at 8:45 AM. The ceremony includes remarks, a commemorative wreath and the tolling of bells.

In Treasure Island, The City of Treasure Island, Florida Fire Department hosts its annual 9-11 Memorial Walk this morning. The 3.43-mile walk begins at 8:46 AM, the time the North Tower was struck, with the distance honoring the 343 firefighters who lost their lives responding that day. What began with just five on-duty firefighters has grown into a community tradition.

Madeira Beach will continue today’s observances with Village Friday: Hero’s Night at 6 PM at John’s Pass, celebrating and recognizing local first responders and community heroes.

We are proud to see our beach communities gather in remembrance, gratitude and unity.

🌊🩵 Member News: Making waves for manatee conservation!

We’re proud to highlight Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber member ZooTampa at Lowry Park and the incredible work being done through its David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center, the largest nonprofit center dedicated to rehabilitating injured, sick and orphaned manatees.

For more than three decades, ZooTampa’s team has cared for more than 640 manatees, with the majority successfully rehabilitated and returned to Florida’s waterways! 🌴

Most recently, ZooTampa hosted the first-ever Manatee Rescue & Rehabilitation Partnership Manatee Husbandry Workshop, welcoming approximately 40 conservation professionals from 18 facilities for hands-on learning, collaboration and conversations about the future of manatee care.

We’re proud to have ZooTampa as part of our Chamber community and to celebrate the important work they’re doing for one of Florida’s most beloved residents! 💙🦭
