People sometimes ask me what professional genealogy actually looks like in practice.

Sitting in an archive with original records spread out in front of me, going page by page through documents that have never been digitized and likely never will be.

It looks like hours of careful, methodical work before a single conclusion gets added to a client's file.

This is not simply a subscription to a genealogy website.

It's not just running a name through a search bar and seeing what comes up.

Those tools have their place, but they are just a piece at the beginning of the research, not the full research plan.

What we do is slow on purpose.

Because every generation in your family tree deserves to be verified, not assumed.

A strong family history is only as good as the records behind it, and I take that seriously.
