Flotilla 11-08, Twin Cities Metro North, held its annual fall cleanup in the Mississippi River Gorge (MM 851-852) on September 25, 2021. 4 members - Jerry Stockham, Don Garvey, George Gallagher, and Jeff Carlson. We estimate approximately 100 lbs. of trash was collected in 1.5 hours of work. Plastic (bottles, cigarette butts, and Styrofoam) was the overwhelming type of trash. Bravo Zulu to George Gallagher for having the forethought to bring an empty paint can to hold sharps. Two syringes were found and removed during the cleanup.
