Today Secretary Simon was excited to join a broad and bipartisan coalition in urging lawmakers to pass legislation that would allow high school-aged students to pre-register to vote in Minnesota.

This bill is about getting good habits started early and making sure young Minnesotans are civically engaged. Thank you to all the students who made your voice heard at the Capitol today.

Secretary Simon talks early voting, pre-registration for 16 and 17-year-olds, and tells the Crookston Daily Times: "I want to connect with all 87 counties in the state."

Simon has a five-point-plan, which includes expanding the access to voting, removing barriers for voting, modernizing business services, strengthening protection for victims of domestic violence and being a Secretary of State for all Minnesotans.

New editorial in Worthington Daily Globe: Secretary Simon “has certainly hit the ground running since taking office, reaching out across the state in an effort to make himself known as well as hear from Minnesotans. In our phone interview, Simon said one of his primary goals is to let people know that his work is not something that merely ‘happens in St. Paul; it’s an 87-county job.’”
