PROJECT UPDATE: Saint Paul Public Works is working on an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan to enhance accessibility for everyone who lives, work, plays, and does business within the City of Saint Paul. This plan will outline how the city will prioritize investments in infrastructure and accessibility upgrades to improve access for all.

Little Bohemia Food Forest Walk and Learn Event

June 11 | 6:00pm -7:30PM

Location: meet at the trailhead at the corner of Duke and Banfil

If you've been wanting to learn more about our community food forest or are thinking about getting involved, please join us! On this guided walk, you'll learn about the history of this project and see where we've planted fruit and berry producing trees and shrubs. In addition to plant identification, we'll talk about harvesting fruits and berries from the forest and how neighborhood volunteers can help! The food forest is a 100% volunteer driven effort and we need help weeding, watering, and caring for the trees. This event is a great way to get connected.

Following the short walk, we will host a picnic at Pleasant Place. Beverages and food from Tavial Grill will be provided. Please RSVP so we know how much food to order and how many chairs to bring. This is a family friendly event and all are welcome to attend!

The West 7th/Fort Road Federation extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and neighbors of Tesfai M. Fekak, who was identified as the victim of the fatality at West Seventh Street and Watson Avenue.

Mr. Fekak was a member of our West 7th community, living nearby and sharing in the daily life of our neighborhood. His loss is felt throughout the community by those who knew him and by many others who recognize the tragedy of losing a neighbor.

As we mourn this loss, we are reminded of the importance of creating streets that are safe and accessible for people of all ages and abilities. The Federation remains committed to advocating for a safer, more connected community for everyone who lives, works, and travels along the corridor.

Our thoughts remain with Mr. Fekak's loved ones and all who are grieving this loss.

Tesfai M. Fekak resided less than half a mile from the crash at West Seventh and Watson streets.
