Community Service, Carolen Bailey Mentoring, Medal of Valor.

Your Saint Paul Police officers were nominated for and received several awards at the annual Minnesota Association of Women Police conference.

Officer Joelle Schutz received the Community Service award for her work in the ASPIRE Unit and connecting with Saint Paul youth.

Sergeant Chelsey Siverling received the Carolen Bailey Mentoring award for her efforts within the Training Unit and our academy classes.

Officer Melissa Leistikow and Sergeant Megan Kosloske received the Medal of Valor for their actions and courage during a use of force incident last summer.

Congratulations to Officers Schutz and Leistikow, and Sergeants Siverling and Kosloske! We're proud of you and happy you received this recognition.

Today we pause to remember our friend and coworker, Officer Joshua Lynaugh.

Officer Lynaugh passed away in the line of duty on February 16, 2013. He was a decorated officer who was loved by many.

We miss you, Josh.

Officer Don Grundhauser passed away Thursday after a battle with colon cancer, and K9 officer Eric McArthur died Friday morning from causes still unknown.

Our Saint Paul Police family is mourning the unexpected loss of Officer Eric McArthur.

Eric served the city of Saint Paul for nine years. He was a dedicated member of our Canine Unit for the last four years with his K9 partner, Finn. They loved coming to work and keeping our city safe.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Eric, you know he cared deeply and was a friend to many. His mentorship, enthusiasm, and laughter will be greatly missed.

Please keep Eric’s family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
