Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs

Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs Advise and Inform on Legislation and Policy with Latino Minnesotans. MCLA’s key roles:
1.

MCLA informs and advises state legislators and the governor’s office on what impact proposed policy, procedures, laws or regulations have on Latino Minnesotans. MCLA also conducts research and relays data within various policy areas impacting Minnesota Latinos. to infuse the Latino community’s voice within the legislative and policy making process.
2. to serves as a referral agency ensuring Latino

Minnesotans are connected to the appropriate services and programs offered by state, local and community resources. MCLA’s objective/goal:

Objective: to empower Latinos, by injecting their voice into the legislative and policy making process and become strong, visible, self-sufficient Minnesotans. Goal: to maximize legislative impact by bringing stakeholders to the Capitol, weighing the data/information and engaging the policy process.

These conversations help ensure that our work remains responsive, impactful, and grounded in the needs of Latino Minnesotans across the state.

June is LGBTQ Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQ communities.

Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising and recognizes how LGBTQ individuals shape our communities and the world.

We also celebrate the many contributions of LGBTQIA2S+ Latinos, whose leadership, advocacy, and experiences continue to strengthen our communities and advance equity and inclusion.
