The Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs was honored to raise the flag at Target Field in recognition of Roberto Clemente Day and the enduring legacy of Roberto Clemente, on and off the field.

Grateful to share this moment with Council board members and staff as we celebrated Latino heritage, community, and the impact of a trailblazer.

Today’s Hybrid Quarterly Board Meeting from the City of Hibbing Government!

Today in Duluth, we hosted Latino Voices: Duluth Community Connection, hearing directly from community members about their strengths, challenges, and needs.

The Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs is committed to bringing community voices directly into our work and ensuring they help inform the advice we provide to the Governor, Minnesota Legislature, and state agencies.

Celebrating Mexican history and its deep roots in Minnesota.

Executive Director Sonia Reyes attended The Mexican Band of 1886 exhibition at Hennepin History Museum, where she connected with Consul Alejandra Bologna of Consulmex Saint Paul and Aaron Johnson-Ortiz, Executive Director leading the effort to establish the Minnesota Latino Museum.

The exhibition highlights the Mexican Band’s historic performance at the 1886 Minneapolis Industrial Exposition and offers an opportunity to recognize the longstanding presence, history, and contributions of Mexican communities in Minnesota.

Thank you to the partners working to preserve and share these important stories and ensure Latino history is recognized as an essential part of Minnesota’s history.
