In a nation where an estimated 64k-75k Black women and girls are missing, our cases stay open 4 times longer and homicide rates are of epidemic proportions, we are long overdue for a response to this crisis. Proud to chief author this bill to establish the nation’s first office.

Our statement regarding the mass shooting at a supermarket on Saturday afternoon in Buffalo, NY.

St. Paul, MN – On Saturday May 14th, ten people were killed and three injured during a mass shooting at a supermarket on Saturday afternoon in Buffalo, New York. The gunman, according to the Buffalo police commissioner, had planned the deadly shooting and has ties to white supremacy.

We’re doing the most we can for mental health care expansion this year. It is far too evident that our communities are struggling. Hope that the Senate will agree.

Su***de is a leading cause of death in the United States. In 2020, nearly 46,000 Americans died by su***de, and an additional 1.2 million adults and 629,000 adolescents attempted su***de.

My mother raised me with the values of caring for everyone and not standing by while some are left behind. We can honor mothers by:

✅ Addressing the unacceptable maternal and infant disparities in our state
✅ Ensuring access to Paid Family and Medical Leave
✅ Ending the crisis of missing and murdered Black women and girls

-Black students say that they feel less cared for in school than their white counterparts.
-Minnesota consistently ranks as one of the healthiest states in the nation, but also has some of the most significant inequities
