🚧 Road Work Ahead: Wright County Resurfacing Project Begins Next Week 🚧

The Wright County Highway Department will begin a pavement resurfacing project next week on CSAH 34 (Beebe Lake Road) and CSAH 19 (Labeaux Ave NE) within St. Michael.

While no road closures or detours are anticipated, motorists should expect lane closures, reduced speeds, and periodic traffic delays throughout the construction area. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone and allow extra time for your commute.

The resurfacing work within St. Michael is expected to be completed in approximately two weeks, weather permitting. This project is being managed by Wright County, direct any questions regarding the project schedule, construction activities, or traffic impacts to the Wright County Highway Department.

The Wright County Highway Department has announced its schedule for overlay and sealcoating projects that will begin the week of June 1. These roads won’t close completely – they will have flaggers controlling directional traffic. Per the City’s previous Facebook Post, the Town Center Park Splash Pad reopened for the season over Memorial Day Weekend. Per the posted sign, the splash pad is open daily from 10am-8pm. Concessions are open from 10am-5pm, weather permitting. Users are reminded to follow the Splash Pad rules, including supervision of children and no running. The surface is naturally slippery when wet but is built to industry standards utilized throughout the Midwest. Water shoes are allowed and can help with any slipping concerns. We did experience a minor leak at the Splash Pad last Wednesday, but that leak was immediately resolved without issue. Patrons are reminded to let the City of St. Michael know of any concerns or issues. Enjoy the Summer Season!

Please see this important construction update below from the Wright County Highway Department regarding the County Highway 36 project.

A Message from the Wright County Highway Department:
Beginning Monday, June 1, traffic on Ogren Avenue will switch to the temporarily constructed bypass alignment, which is located approximately a quarter mile west. Eastbound and westbound movements will be maintained at the temporary bypass intersection with CSAH 36. All other accesses to CSAH 36 east of Ogren Avenue will remain eastbound direction only. Access via the bypass will continue through early July. The project website https://wrightcsah36-wsbeng.hub.arcgis.com/ will be updated as needed regarding important progress and navigation information adjacent and within the site. If you have any questions or concerns during construction, please reach out to the construction helpline at [email protected]. Construction on CSAH 36 will take place in several stages with the roadway closed to westbound traffic between Ogren Avenue NE and Quam Avenue NE. Westbound traffic will follow the posted detour. Two-way traffic will be maintained west of Ogren Avenue NE via the bypass and east of Quam Avenue NE. The project is expected to be completed by late fall 2026.
