On Saturday, Congressman GT Thompson was honored to participate in the Walk to Remember Our Fallen in  , PA on the grounds of the 28th Infantry Division Military museum.

The morning began with the sound of bagpipes, followed by local scout troops presenting the colors. Pastor Ashley McDonald offered an opening prayer, followed by our National Anthem, performed the Nittany Knights Barbershop Chorus. 

Several powerful and moving speakers followed, including Debra Burger, who shared her family's decades‑long search for her brother, Lewis P. Smith II, lost during a reconnaissance flight in 1968.

GT and other friends then walked the museum grounds, viewing storyboards along the path honoring our fallen heroes, with attached messages of love and respect written by local children.

The morning closed with Taps, performed by University of Delaware sophomore, Hannah Majewski, and a 21-gun salute from the Bellefonte VFW.

Congresman GT would like to thank Trish Shallenberger of A Soldier's Hands, and everyone who helped organize this outstanding event honoring our fallen men and women in uniform this weekend.

🇺🇸 As we honor and remember those who paid the ultimate price defending our precious Constitutional freedoms this , we also note that this sacred, solemn, quintessentially American day began in Centre County, PA, in the heart of our 15th Congressional District, where our own Congressman — and father of a decorated Wounded Warrior — "GT" Thompson was born and raised.
