Food Services is reporting that they still have a lot of unpaid meal balances. Parents can still pay online or drop off money at the District Office to bring their students' accounts to a positive balance. If there are funds left on their account, they roll over for them to the next school year.

We are so proud of our kindergartens who are headed to 1st grade! Thank you teachers, helpers, and parents.

In Idaho, the month of June marks the annual observance of School Board Appreciation Month—a time to honor the important role and dedication of board members in their public service and celebrate public education.

In SMJSD, school board members must develop policies and make tough decisions on complex educational and social issues impacting the entire community. They bear responsibility for an annual budget of over $10 million, 850 students, 165 employees and 4 school buildings with a growing number of grounds. They preserve public education for the community of St. Maries.

We don’t always recognize the dedication and hard work of these public servants elected to represent us and the interest of our children. Their hard work often goes unnoticed.

During the month of June, I encourage you to give thanks and recognition for our elected school board members.

We’re proud of our district, and School Board Recognition Month is the time to say thank you and celebrate the accomplishments and commitments of our board members.”

Josh Harvey, Paul Sotin, Heather Wilcox, Jody Hendrickx, Alan Imel.
