Reminder - The outdoor burning of leaves, brush, rubbish, garbage, refuse, castoff building materials, vehicle parts, and every other combustible material is prohibited in the City of St. Louis.

We have had several recent complaints of residents using approved outdoor recreational fire pits to burn yard waste and trash. This is not allowed.

Congratulations to our newest officers, Officer Joshua Coty and Officer Jasmine VanDyke.

Both officers recently graduated from the Delta College Police Academy, where they successfully completed the 16-week training program.

Officer Coty earned two honors upon graduation: the Top Athlete Award and the MCOLES Outstanding Student Award. He is only the second St. Louis Police Officer to receive this distinguished recognition.

Officer VanDyke is a second-generation law enforcement officer. Her father, David VanDyke, and uncle, Phil VanDyke, both began their careers with the St. Louis Police Department. In addition to her law enforcement background, Officer VanDyke served seven years in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Military Police Officer, achieving the rank of Sergeant.

Officer Coty also brings seven years of military service, having served in both the United States Air Force and the United States Army (Airborne), where he attained the rank of Specialist. He comes from a strong tradition of community service—his father, Bill Coty, is a longtime member of the St. Louis Area Fire Department and currently serves as its Chief.

Both officers will now begin a 16-week field training program, working alongside experienced training officers.

If you are missing a greenhouse, stop by or call the St. Louis Police Department. This greenhouse was found in the area of Hazel and Maple Street. We are assuming the recent heavy winds may have moved it from its original location.
