Today, we said goodbye to someone who has meant so much to the Hosea family. ❤️🖤

After 7 incredible years at Hosea, we surprised Mr. McCarthy with a special clap out from our students and staff to celebrate his last day as our principal. While we are heartbroken to see him go, we are beyond grateful for the impact he has made on our school, our students, our families, and our community.

Mr. McCarthy has poured his heart into Hosea and helped make it the amazing place it is today. His leadership, support, kindness, and dedication have left a lasting mark on all of us. The legacy he leaves behind will continue to be felt for years to come.

Thank you, Mr. McCarthy, for everything you have done for the Hosea Hawks. You will always be part of the Hosea family. ❤️

We celebrated our amazing students who showed up every single day with a well-deserved ice cream social! We are so proud of their commitment, responsibility, and hard work throughout the year.

🌟 Celebrating Our 2nd Semester Character Kids! 🌟

At Hosea, we are so proud of the students who have gone above and beyond to demonstrate outstanding character throughout the second semester! ❤️🖤

Each month, we focused on an important character trait, and these students were recognized for being shining examples both inside and outside the classroom:

💪 April – Perseverance
⏳ May – Patience

Thank you to our amazing Character Kids for showing kindness, leadership, integrity, and determination every single day. We are so proud of the positive example you set for others!

Tonight is a great night to come meet Ms. Lawrence, the new Hosea principal. It will just be a come and go event for you to walk in and walk out. We hope to see some of you there!

Tonight, the St. Joseph School District will host an open house at all K-12 school locations to assist students and families with the upcoming transition to their new school assignments.

This event is designed to help students become familiar with their new environments before the start of the next school year. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the buildings and meet teachers and principals.

Date: Tuesday, May 19, 2026
Time: 5:00 to 7:00 PM
Location: All K-12 District Buildings

Field and Pershing elementary schools will be retired at the end of this year, and they will not host open house events.

Summer school is right around the corner, and enrollment is now open for St. Joseph School District students.

Elementary and middle school programs offer a mix of academic enrichment, hands-on activities, and time with friends, running May 26 through June 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Transportation will be provided. Meals will be offered by the district using the same qualifications as the 2025-2026 school year.

High school students can take advantage of flexible, virtual extended learning and credit recovery opportunities, also running May 26 through June 18.

What a fun way to wrap up the year with Field Day fun and some amazing community visitors! We loved having the City of St. Joseph, MO Government and the Altec Sales Team join us today at Hosea. ❤️🖤

A huge thank you to everyone who helps make our school and community such a great place for our Hawks to learn, grow, and thrive. Now let the Field Day games begin! 🎉☀️
