Why are you involved in politics?

“I, like many I'm sure, woke up on the morning after the election in 2016.. With a real sense of confusion and fear and dread and just like, what the heck just happened? And what does this mean? And I'm afraid that it could mean some really bad things.

So I think I better start paying a little more attention. I think I better get involved.. because I learned a long time ago that if you're not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem. Right? And so I showed up and I'd been, you know, I'd done some things with the Democratic Party in the past, but not in a super committed way. And so I just committed to started going to the meetings.

And that's a great first step. You don't have to show up and run for something. You just show up to the meetings and you learn, right? And I had a lot of learning to do.”
