Host a zero-waste Memorial Day party! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Use reusable cups, plates, and utensils for food and drinks. You can put together a cleanup group to help with dishes! 🍽️

Finger foods help reduce the number of plates and silverware used. Order food and drinks in bulk to avoid single-use items. πŸͺ

Try to use natural or reusable decor like flowers, themed serving platters, and candles. You can even see if there's a party kit service near you! They will drop off reusable party goods for rent, then pick them up when you're done!

Almost half of the food in the U.S. goes to waste - approximately 3,000 pounds per second.

Reduce food waste by planning meals ahead, only buying what you need at the store, saving leftovers to eat later, or donating surplus food to local food drives and charities.

With summer right around the corner, you might be looking to update your wardrobe. πŸ‘šπŸ©³

But did you know that Americans throw away over 34 billion pounds of clothing each year?

And only 15% are recycled or reused. Help combat waste by buying clothes that you will actually wear, not just what's trendy!

You can donate your clothes or take them to a clothing swap to find interesting pieces from others, and have fun while doing it!

Moms love getting flowers on Mother's Day, but what do you do when the flowers wilt? πŸ’

If you want to keep your flowers around longer, you can get them pressed to keep them forever!

For an easy at-home press, just put your flowers in between two pieces of parchment paper, then stick that between two books (or stacks of books) to dry them out! You can also cut the flowers up and add them to your compost as a green!

Graduation parties are ripe for food waste, and here are some ways to prevent it!

Offer buffet-style food so people only take as much as they need.

Choose single serving desserts like cupcakes or cookies over a cake. Have reusable containers on hand for leftovers.

If you have a lot of food left over, check with your local food bank to see if they are able to take it.

Finally, compost any remaining food scraps.
