This is awesome. We were incredibly sad to miss this event. We were asked to help with our food trailer however we had already a while back booked our company gathering the same date. We would have definitely been there had it not fallen on the same day! Wonderful family and we surely missed it!

A message from the Toney family:

“Saturday was a day we won’t forget.

Eddie would have been so proud of what went on yesterday at the bakery. It’s amazing to see the community support we’ve received over 70 years in business, because none of it would have been possible without our customers — both the people who shop at our local stores and the businesses who purchase from us every week.

It’s especially special to think about the fact that Eddie started the bakery in 1956, and it has now been passed down through two more generations of our family. Eddie’s grandson, Paul Toney Jr., now owns and operates the business. Through each generation of ownership, our family has taken the business to heights we never imagined possible. We are so proud of our family and the incredible legacy Eddie left behind.

It was also incredibly special for us to bring back the original BelAires, a band that Paul Toney Sr. started back in 1987. Having them back together and performing as part of such an important day for our family was a beautiful reminder of the traditions, memories, and legacy that have been carried through the generations.

Saturday, over 1,500 people showed up to support the bakery, and we sold over 300 dozen donuts! We had over 30 vendors who did so well, and friends of people attended simply because they wanted to be there and be a part of such a historical day.

It meant the world to our family, and we’ll be forever grateful.

We also raised money for the 8th grade class at Waterford School and raffled off over 30 items from all of the amazing vendors who joined us.
We had a surprise visit from the Lieutenant Governor, which made an already incredible day even more special.

It was a day we’ll never forget.

To every single person who came out, every customer who has supported us over the years, every business who purchases from us each week, every vendor who joined us, and everyone who simply wanted to be there and be a part of this historical day — thank you.

After 70 years, we are reminded once again that this bakery is about so much more than just a business. It’s about family, community, generations, and the people who have helped make this journey possible.

We are incredibly proud of where we’ve come from, incredibly grateful for where we are today, and so excited for what the future holds.

Most of all, we know Eddie would have been proud.”

“25 years ago tonight, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00am September 11, 2001.

In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted”.

25 years. 🇺🇸

Beginning September 9, two towering beams of light will rise from the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire, creating a dramatic tribute to the 25th anniversary of September 11. Known as The Honor Summit, the installation is inspired by the twin beams at Ground Zero and transforms the Northeast’s highest peak into a beacon of remembrance.
The beams will shine September 9–12, from 8 p.m. to midnight, extending roughly four and a half miles above Mount Washington’s 6,288-foot summit. In clear conditions, organizers estimate they could be visible from as far as 135 miles away, potentially reaching parts of Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts and beyond.
Created by Renee Plummer of the Granite Springs Foundation with support from New Hampshire and regional partners, The Honor Summit honors those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, as well as first responders, veterans and others who serve their communities. Visitors are encouraged to view the lights from surrounding communities rather than driving to the summit, taking a moment to look up, remember and reflect.
