We’ve been busy, busy, busy here at Clinton County Emergency Management! 🚨

We wrapped up last week with the Clinton County 4-H fair followed by the St. Johns Mint Festival. It’s always great to be part of these community events, connect with our residents, and put our equipment and capabilities to work.

And we’re not slowing down! Today we have the opportunity to participate in a Tri-County AVI (Active Violence Incident) exercise in Eaton County alongside our partners from neighboring counties and agencies.

Exercises like this are an important part of emergency preparedness. They allow us to train alongside our public safety partners, test our plans and equipment, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen the coordination that is so important during a real emergency.

A big thank-you to all of our partners, volunteers, first responders, and community members who help make these events and training opportunities possible. We remain ready and proud to serve Clinton County 24/7/365! 🇺🇸

A little later than planned, but we've been keeping busy!

Yesterday, Clinton County Emergency Management had a great time participating in National Night Out in. St. Johns. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, and took the time to learn more about emergency preparedness and the resources we provide to our community. Events like these are a great opportunity to connect with residents and our public safety partners.

Today, we're back at the Clinton County Fair, continuing to train, exercise our equipment, and meet with fairgoers. If you're at the fair, be sure to stop by and say hello! We'd love to show you some of the equipment and capabilities we have available to support our community during emergencies and planned events.

We are looking forward to Kids Day at the fair tomorrow!

🎡 Day 2 at the Clinton County Fair! 🚨

Our team is back on site today, continuing to train and exercise the equipment and resources we have available to support the fair and our community.

While we hope our equipment isn't needed, we're committed to making sure it's ready to go at a moment's notice.

If you see our team around the fairgrounds, feel free to stop by, say hello, and learn more about the work we do to help keep Clinton County safe.

It's a busy week for Clinton County Emergency Management!

This week, you'll find us out in the community at several events:

🚨 The Clinton County 4-H Fair with our Mobile Incident Command Post
🚨 St. Johns National Night Out on Tuesday evening
🚨 The Mint Festival in St. Johns this weekend with our Mobile Incident Command Post

While these events allow us to connect with our community, they also provide valuable opportunities for our team to train and exercise with our emergency response equipment and our "Incident Management Assistance Team" (IMAT). These planned events create real-world environments that help us maintain 24/7/365 readiness, strengthen teamwork, and ensure we're prepared to respond when our community needs us most.

Our IMAT is mostly comprised of dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time, skills, and expertise to support Clinton County Emergency Management. Their commitment to serving others is commendable, and we are grateful for everything they do to help us keep our community safe and prepared.

If you see us at any of these community events, stop by, say hello, meet our team, and learn more about emergency preparedness and the work we do throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you!

Important air quality information from our partners at Ingham County Emergency Management.

{UPDATED POSTS ABOVE}

Plumes of smoke from Canadian wildfires will continue moving into the region this week. The plumes Wednesday morning have reached the upper peninsula, and the plumes will continue sinking south, reaching the Michigan/Indiana border Wednesday evening.

It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in nose, throat, and eyes. You can help reduce air pollution by limiting activities, such as outdoor burning.

Tips for households:
- Keep windows closed when possible with the heat to prevent smoke from getting indoors.
