Beginning tomorrow, August 18, Chandler Road between M-21 and Colony will be closed to through traffic while we complete an asphalt resurfacing project.

Local access will be maintained with flaggers; however, motorists should expect delays.

This project is expected to be completed within 2 to 3 weeks. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this project.

We are currently accepting applications for a Mechanic.

All applicants must have a valid commercial driver’s license class ‘A’ with an ‘N’ endorsement.

Mechanic applicants must have their own tools (insured by the Road Commission). Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and the ability to weld, braze, sandblast, and paint equipment.

Starting wage for a Mechanic is $32.26.

Long-term employees at the Road Commission can expect to retire with a lifetime monthly retirement benefit that could equal approximately 50% of their pre-retirement income. Enrolling in our voluntary supplemental retirement savings program further increases your retirement income.

We also offer medical, dental, vision, short-term disability (STD), and life insurance benefits. All Road Commission employees receive 11 paid holidays throughout the year, as well as opportunities to earn additional paid days off. Each employee earns annual vacation time in addition to paid sick and personal time. CCRC invests in its employees and wants to help take care of you now and in the future.

🚧 M-21 Chip Seal Work Starts TODAY!!! 🚧
The Clinton County Road Commission will be performing chip seal work on M-21 on behalf of the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Work will extend from the west Clinton County line to the St. Johns city limits.
The chip seal process is expected to take several days. Additional work will continue the following week to apply a fog seal and restore pavement markings. The schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change.
M-21 will remain open to traffic. Flaggers will direct traffic through areas where crews are actively working. Motorists should expect delays and temporary traffic stoppages.
⚠️ Loose stone will be present throughout the project area. Motorists are reminded to slow down, drive with caution, and follow all directions from flaggers. Please do not pass the chip seal operation.
Access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the project.

🚧 Airport Road Construction Update 🚧

The moment we have all been waiting for... Airport Road is now open to traffic!

Please continue to use caution as crews will be completing final restoration work along the shoulders over the next few weeks. Temporary lane closures may be in place during this work.

In addition, the newly installed traffic signal at Airport Road and Stoll Road will remain in a 4-way flash pattern for a few weeks while motorists become accustomed to the new traffic pattern.
