The previous library millage expired in December of 2025; therefore, we need a new operating millage. We are asking for the same .75 mill that we asked for 10 years ago. This is not an additional library millage, it will be the ONLY library millage.

We read every day;) basically we are addicted;) & can not imagine our city without Briggs Community Library.📚📚📚📚📚

Did you know that besides books you can also check out WiFi hot spots:)

The library also has a Makerspace with 3D printers, a Cricut, a sewing machine, an Ellison die cut machine, & VR headsets available for use. There is also a seed library❤️& access to the Michigan Activities Pass, Michigan Legal Help, MeL and Mango.

When we can not get to the library we use the Libby App & get Free books on our Kindle!!! We canceled a few apps on our phone because we can listen to Audiobooks on Libby & Hoopla, both PROVIDED by the library.🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽

Briggs Community Library opened its doors for the first time on April 13, 1940. The millage amount requested on the August 4th is the same amount requested 10 years ago, approximately the cost of one latte (or cider:) a month per household.

The millage accounts for approximately 80% of the library’s operating budget.
