Police Chief Kevin James, along with the other officers, invites you to our national Faith & Blue weekend celebration starting Oct 9 through Oct 12, 2026. Faith & Blue Weekend is a community outreach event where we partner with local faith-based organizations to schedule activities in communities across the country that bring together law enforcement and community members to build connections, create mutual understanding, and strengthen trust and mutual respect between law enforcement and the communities they serve. We hope to see you at one of these events!
Friday, Oct 9: High School Varsity Football Homecoming Game starting at 7pm. Our officers will be in attendance to cheer on our home team and spend time with community members. Go Saints!
Saturday, Oct 10: Coffee with a Cop:
9am at Boardwalk Coffee Shop
4pm at the Salty Mac Coffee House
These are great opportunities to stop by and get to know our officers, or to ask any police-related questions you may have.
Sunday, Oct 11: Rolling tour of our participating local churches to meet with them during their regularly scheduled services.
Sunday, Oct 11: SIPD will announce the winner of our Essay Contest that will be focused on a policing issue. Details will be announced in a separate Facebook post soon.
Monday, Oct 12: SIPD is challenging the Mackinac County Sheriff's Office to a wiffle ball game at the Straits Area Senior Living Center for the entertainment of their residents. Game starts at 1pm.
Monday, Oct 12: Open House and Ribbon Cutting for the new Saint Ignace Police Station located at 700 US2. Help us celebrate our new police station! Food and drinks will be available, as well as fun events for children. Police vehicles and equipment will be on display. Stop by to congratulate Sgt. Mitchell on completing 20 years of service to the police department. Times are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
