We talk a lot about how libraries are more than just books. Did you know we have a free seed library inside our building? The Columbia County Master Gardeners are currently collecting donated open-pollinated heirloom tomatoes for our seed library. You can drop off your tomato at the OSU Extension Office (505 N Columbia River Highway, St. Helens). The Master Gardeners will process the tomato and save the seeds for our seed library!

We're bringing back an annual tradition: the Adults and Crafts Garden Art event! Join us on Tuesday, August 11 from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. as you help us create art for the courtyard.

This year we’ll have one long canvas for everyone to work on. Participants can spend a bit of time painting, adding to, and modifying sections of the canvas as we work together to create a collaborative art piece to display.

This program is for participants ages 18 and up only.

This event is free and you do not need a St. Helens Public Library card to participate.

Wow! We had 101 people visit for our Portland Insectarium event at the St. Helens Public Library on July 21! We'd like to extend a HUGE thank you to Portland Insectarium for staying longer than we booked them so that everyone had a chance to see and interact with their insects.

If you're looking for more opportunities to interact with insects, you can visit the Portland Insectarium zoo and museum in Portland: https://www.pdxinsectarium.org/

We had 34 people help Chalk the Walk yesterday from our courtyard all the way to the parking lot! Miss Jana ran the course once everyone was finished adding activities. Now you're invited to enjoy this community challenge course at the Library until the rain or enough footsteps wash the course away.
