St. George Fire crews responded to two fire incidents this afternoon. The first was on I 15 Southbound about mile marker 7 when a trailer lost two tires starting a brush fire in the area of 400 east and I 15 next to a city power substation. The second fire was a vehicle fire that started in the bed of a pick truck. The driver pulled off Red Cliffs Drive and into the parking lot of the mall. The occupants were able to exit the vehicle with no injuries. The fire spread to the cab of the vehicle and the truck had a failure of the fuel tank/system which caused a large volume of flame under the vehicle and to some time to control the fire due to the fuel leak. Great work by our crews!!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to the two ladies (Chelia & Maye) who truly run the show! Let’s be honest: without them, the station would probably be in a state of "controlled burn."
Thank you for managing the chaos and keeping us all on track. We’d be lost without you!

From rescue to takeoff! 🦅
Back in January, our station 6 crews found this falcon in need of a serious helping hand. Captain Whitehead stepped up to ensure it got to the right experts for recovery. Fast forward to today: after a full recovery, the falcon is back in the skies!
Captain Whitehead was even there to help with the release. Seeing it take flight again? That’s what we call a "win." 🙌✨
