We are getting closer to the new Summers Corner Fire and EMS Station!

The station is expected to open in the next six weeks, bringing Dorchester County Fire Rescue and Dorchester County Emergency Medical Services closer to residents on the western side of the Ashley River.

Once operational, the station will help improve emergency response times and strengthen fire protection in the growing Summers Corner area. The additional coverage may also improve ISO ratings, which can help lower homeownersโ€™ insurance premiums for residents in the surrounding community.

We look forward to celebrating the stationโ€™s opening and sharing more updates as construction moves closer to completion

Dorchester County Water and Sewer Department advises the customers of Bent Creek Drive, Hidden Forest Lane, Burkeshire Court, Rice Mill Drive, Aspen Woods Lane, Lavender Lane, Sawmill Trace Lane, Saddle Creek Court, Buttonwood Court, Trevor Street, and Water Ash Way that they no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

Following an intense flushing of the water distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected by the Department and analyzed by our laboratory. The results of this sampling indicate that the water system is now safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.
