Saint David Fire District

Saint David Fire District Established in 1992, we are made up of a special breed of men and women; individuals who understand the true meaning of service to their community.

These fine people volunteer their time, to help keep their friends and neighbors safe. Serving 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, these fine individuals will leave their families in the middle of the night to head into dangers unknown. Some types of calls they respond to include structure fires, wildland fires, vehicle fires, automobile accidents, all types of rescues, snake removal, and medical calls

ranging from broken bones to cardiac arrests. Many have taken their personal time to obtain EMT, Paramedic, Wildland 1 & 2, Fire Fighter 1 & 2 and different types of Instructor certifications. Some of these require up to a year of training to obtain. Once again, they do all of this for no compensation!

☀️💦 SDFD had a blast participating in St. David School’s Field Day yesterday morning!

Our crews helped the students cool off Arizona-style by letting them take control of the fire hose and spray some water across the field. There were lots of smiles, plenty of laughs, and definitely a few soaked firefighters by the end of it! 🚒😄

Thank you to St. David Unified School District #21 for inviting us out to be part of such a fun community event. We love opportunities like this to connect with the kids and community we serve every day.

🔥 Fire Safety Starts at Home 🔥

Do you and your family have a plan if a fire breaks out?

The reality is—you may only have a few minutes to get out safely. Having a plan in place can make all the difference.

✅ Make a home escape plan
✅ Know at least TWO ways out of every room
✅ Pick a safe meeting place outside
✅ Practice your plan regularly

🚨 When the alarm sounds:
GET OUT. STAY OUT. CALL 911.

Too often, families don’t practice until it’s too late. Take a few minutes today to sit down with your household and make a plan—you could save a life.

At 18:32, St. David Fire District was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire on W. Patton St.

While responding, personnel observed active flames coming from the exhaust stack at Beloved Companions Pet Crematory.

Upon arrival alongside Cochise County Sheriff's Office - Mark J. Dannels Sheriff, Engine 281 and Rescue 281 made contact with the operator. Crews were advised the facility was actively cremating a large pig, and the visible flames were part of normal operations.

With no emergency present, assisting agencies were canceled.

One thing about this job—you never know what the day will bring, who you’ll meet, or what you’ll learn. Personnel were given a tour of the facility and learned how a crematory operates and the systems involved. Calls like this are a reminder that every response is an opportunity to gain experience and expand your knowledge.

If you’re looking to be part of something meaningful, serve your community, and experience something new every day, consider joining SDFD. We’re always looking for dedicated individuals ready to step up and make a difference.
