💛✨ National Random Acts of Kindness Day ✨💛

Today is National Random Acts of Kindness Day — a great reminder that the smallest actions can make the biggest difference. Kindness is contagious, and it helps make St. Croix Falls an even stronger, safer community.

Here are a few easy ways to spread kindness today:
✅ Hold the door for someone
✅ Send a quick “thinking of you” message
✅ Pay a compliment
✅ Shovel a neighbor’s sidewalk
✅ Thank a teacher, bus driver, or local worker
✅ Let someone merge (yes, it counts 😄)

🚌❤️ School Bus Driver Appreciation Week (Feb. 9–13) ❤️🚌

This week, the St. Croix Falls Police Department wants to say a huge THANK YOU to all school bus drivers for the patience, professionalism, and care you bring to the road every day. And a special thank you to our St. Croix Falls School District bus drivers—you keep our kids safe and our community moving. We appreciate you! 👏🚸

🚨 Friendly reminder: Wisconsin School Bus Law (WI Stat. 346.48) 🚨
When a school bus is stopped and flashing RED lights, drivers must stop at least 20 feet away and remain stopped until the bus moves again or the red lights shut off. This applies to traffic approaching from both directions, except on the opposite side of a divided highway with a center median. Please watch for the amber lights (slow down—bus is preparing to stop), and never ignore the red lights/stop arm.

💰 Penalty update (these amounts can change):
• Failing to stop can result in a fine of $676.50

🚔 Bottom line: Please slow down, eliminate distractions, and use extra caution whenever you see a school bus—those flashing lights and stop arm are protecting kids who may be crossing the road.
