๐ International Day of Charity
โCharity at its core is an expression of global solidarity. It brings people together to build more just and resilient societies, whether through direct giving, volunteering, or collective action.โ โ United Nations
September 5 is International Day of Charity, a day established by the United Nations to encourage people to give back and make a difference in their communities.
If youโre looking for a way to give back right here in Polk County, there are several ways to do so through ICPC:
๐ค Volunteer your time
Whether you have a couple hours each week or just an occasional afternoon, thereโs a volunteer opportunity for you. Provide a ride to an appointment, deliver groceries, make a friendly visit, help with a minor fix-it project, read aloud, and more!
๐ Make a donation
Every donation helps us provide free services to seniors and adults with disabilities throughout the county. Donations are tax deductible, and there are many ways to give โ including by mail, in person, through Mightycause, donor-advised funds, or Thrivent Choice Dollars.
โค๏ธ Spread the word
Canโt volunteer or donate right now? Sharing our posts is another meaningful way to help! When you share information about ICPC, youโre helping us reach someone who may need our services.
You donโt have to give a lot to make a difference. Every act of kindness matters. ๐งก
