Our 5th graders voted, and this year’s theme is Avengers: Science Wars! Today, students were officially placed into their teams: Stark, Galaxy, Wakanda, and Spiderverse!

Throughout the year, these teams will battle it out by reviewing their science knowledge, completing challenges, and earning points along the way. In the end, one team will reign supreme… but the real goal is for ALL of our students to grow, work together, and become stronger scientists!

We kicked things off with our first challenge: Build the Tallest Tower! Using only notecards, students had to collaborate, problem-solve, and create the tallest free-standing tower they could. We had some pretty impressive towers!

We can’t wait to see where Science Wars takes us this year. Avengers… ASSEMBLE!

Mrs. Ansbaugh and Mrs. Jedynski had their first VIP reader of the year visit Monday.

The point of the VIP Reader is to have people from different occupations share their story, answer some questions and read a book to their 5th grade classes.

The first visitor was our very own Mrs. Miller. The 5th graders got to learn all kinds of things about Mrs. Miller, such as where she went to college and about her incredible family. She read "The Magical Yet," and reminded the 5th graders to try their best each day. She reminded them we all have struggles but just keep working hard and you will succeed.

Thanks so much Mrs. Miller for taking the time to visit us.

🗓 As we turn our calendars to September, here are some important dates to keep in mind:

- Monday, September 7th, is Labor Day, which means all schools and district offices will be closed.
- On Friday, September 11th, Progress Reports for the 1st Nine Weeks will be released.
- Friday, September 25th, is a Professional Learning Day for school district staff. This means there is no school for students.
