We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Al Benney, a beloved educator at Hennepin Technical College. Al was a pioneering figure in the field of Community Paramedic education, having taught more Community Paramedics than anyone else. His dedication to healthcare education has left an indelible mark on countless lives. His commitment, passion, and wisdom have not only shaped the future of emergency medical services but also ensured that communities across the country have skilled, compassionate care available when needed most.

We have lost a remarkable educator and an inspiring colleague. Let us honor Al's legacy by continuing to strive for excellence in the work he loved so much. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to learn from him. Rest in peace, Al. Your impact will not be forgotten.
