🚧 CONSTRUCTION UPDATES 🚧

Happy Friday! Enjoy these construction update photos of your two future fire stations: new Station 32 on Old Canoe Creek Rd., and Station 35 in front of Tohoqua on Neptune Rd.

These new stations and the professional St. Cloud firefighters that staff them will improve response times for the surrounding communities that they serve, and seconds save lives!

All administrative offices of the City of St. Cloud, Florida, St. Cloud Police Department, and St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department will be closed Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

911 and emergency response will continue to be available.

Regular office hours will resume Tuesday, September 8th.

There will be regular garbage/recycling pickup, and the Transfer Station will be open 7 a.m. to noon. t.ly/y8uYn

Congratulations to FF/PM Ian Brinley for completing paramedic orientation and being cleared by the Medical Director to work as a solo paramedic. Strong work! This is the 18th solo paramedic cleared just this year, and the 10th of our SAFER Grant hires.

🚨 CRASH ALERT 🚨

1:15AM UPDATE: The roadway has reopened. Please drive with caution.

Westbound 13th Street (US 192) is closed between Old Canoe Creek Road and Sergeant Graham Drive while we respond to a vehicle vs pedestrian crash.

Please use either Neptune Road or Brown Chapel to Lakeshore to avoid traffic in the area.

Please drive with care near first responders, and follow this page for updates.

HOME/VEHICLE FIRE

Our crews put out a structure fire tonight on Branched Oak Rd. It was caused by a vehicle that caught fire in the garage, that then spread to the second floor of the home.

While all occupants were able to evacuate and no injuries were reported, the home is no longer habitable.

Please take time each month to practice exit drills with your family to safely escape in the event of an emergency.

Fire stations are awesome. We love them, and we know you do, too... but please, wait for them to be built and officially opened before dropping off your used medical needles! 💉😲 Besides the obvious issue of trespassing in an active construction site, we want to be sure your sharps receive the care in disposal they deserve.

We have received calls through 911 reporting smoky conditions near Eden Drive and Nova Road, in unincorporated Osceola County. This is due to a brush fire that started recently. 🚧ROAD CLOSURE ALERT🚧

10:30PM UPDATE: City crews are working through the night to make temporary repairs to the roadway. Be sure to follow for updates.

9PM: Cypress Tree Trail is currently closed to traffic west of Cypress River Road, due to damage caused by a washout.

City of St. Cloud, Florida staff are on scene to assess the damage, and St. Cloud Police are working to provide residents access to and from their homes until the roadway can reopen.

The US National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for eastern Central Florida, including the City of St. Cloud, Florida. This means conditions are favorable for high winds and the possibility of small hail until 4:30 p.m. Please stay tuned for weather alerts on your cellphone or on TV. If severe weather is in your area, be ready to seek safe shelter indoors until it passes.
