The St Charles Lions continue to support local community causes.

The St Charles Lions had its regular monthly meeting at the Moose Lodge on March 2, 2026.

The evening started with the Lions monthly business meeting followed by a light dinner and then transitioned to their general meeting. The highlight of this evening was local community donation presentations.

A donation of $1,500.00 was presented to 9th Grade SCHS for their summer 2026 Washington DC trip. This donation was presented by Lions President Ann Schwieder to 9th grade representatives Landon Hart and Aubrey DeBusk. This donation & other fundraising by the class will make it possible for any 9th grader to make this trip if they choose.

The Lions also continues their yearly support of the Food For Families program. President Ann
Schwieder presented a check of $1,200.00 to representatives John Steffel and Patty Mayorga. Ms Mayorga explained how these dollars are used to help support families with food in the St Charles community.

The Lions board members also approved a $250.00 dollar donation for this years SCHS Post Prom Party.

The Lions also made a $350.00 donation to WOW for their summer green space programs.

The St. Charles Lion’s Club is part of a growing local, state and international organization. More than 1.4 million Lions around the world are responding to local and global challenges with kindness and care. We support local charities and assist the Lions International charities that help vision, hearing, diabetes, childhood cancer and environmental concerns.

Our local chapter meets on the first Monday of each month at the Moose Lodge at 6:30 pm. All are welcome. Please come and check
us out.

The SC Lions Club elected a new president for 2025. Ann Schwieder started her term as president this fall. Ann has been a Lions Club member for 3 years and is a long time resident of St Charles. She is a mother of three grown children and a grandmother of two. She recently retired from Mayo Clinic after many years of service. Ann has already brought several changes and new ideas to the SC Lions. The SC Lions past president, John Steffel has now moved up to the District 5M1 level of the Lions. He is serving as the Second Vice District Governor this year.

Our SC Lions Club has installed (4) new members this year. Lion Ann Schwieder sponsored three new members; William Wormuth, Teresa Wormuth, and Olinda Seitz. Not pictured is the fourth new member Mark Linderbaum who was sponsored by Lion Mike Miller.

The SC Lions meet every Monday at 6:30pm at the Moose Lodge. Our meetings are open to the public. We invite you to come & learn more about the Lions and our activities.
